Checking in at New Orleans with Dialysis supplies

I posted this on the Carnival board but I wanted to put it here in case someone can help

 

This is my first time cruising while on Peritoneal dialysis. I will be bringing boxes of fluid with me instead of having it shipped. I haven't been able to find anything stating how to check in the boxes. I can carry on my peripheral supplies but the boxes are too bulky to carry. Is there a special needs desk at New Orleans where I check in? I need to ensure that the boxes get on the ship. Can anyone tell me the procedures?

You might want to check out the Disabled Cruise Travel forum since that's where cruisers with physical limitations share their advice & experiences. Someone there may have cruised from NOLA while on Peritoneal dialysis too. Hopefully they will be able to give you the answers you seek there.
