When first introduced several years ago, the in-cabin kit cost $100 for unlimited internet use per cruise - great deal! Shortly thereafter, X outsourced computer lab/internet service and the kit cost $25/day for 50 minutes of internet access - ok, but not great. Now the charge is $10/day plus $0.75/minute, with packages (100 minutes, 200 minutes) available to lower the per minute charge, but not by much - a bad deal since internet service aboard the ships is satellite dependent and somewhat slower than we're all used to at home and charges pile up faster than a New York minute! To the extent possible, I'd suggest using the ship's internet service only when absolutely necessary and visiting an internet cafe at each port of call.
