Can you bring a metal detector to Coco Cay and Nassau?

As I remember, anything of value or significances, belongs to the government and must be turned over.

As for the detector itself,  customs can either make you pay a deposit in cash (50% of the value of the unit) and refund this when leaving the island,  or a tariff or tax on the value, depends on the unit and condition.
