Nassau, Bahamas. Port issues?

Recommended Posts

As you can see, I am new to the Board. Thanks for all the great advice!

We just returned from the EOS Eastern Carib, 2/5-2/12. Awesome experience! :D

One issue I have still not been able to resolve:

We were notified ONCE WE LEFT MIAMI that we were not stopping at Nassau on the way back but were being rerouted to Freeport.

I live in South Florida so Freeport is 70 miles away. There is nothing new there for my wife and I.

Does anyone know if there are issues at Nassau's port? I think all ships that were sailing with us, Carnival, Celebrity and one other I can't remember were also rerouted.

Sorry if this thread has already been addressed.

Thanks.

We will also be sailing on the Explorer in 2 weeks and would like to know!! Don't really have any big plans except checking out the Atlantis for a bit, but it sure would be nice to know in advance so we can come up with something to do in Freeport instead!!

Why Freeport port stop instead of Nassau port stop?
