Chinatown in Victoria, BC

Recommended Posts

Chinatown is walkable if you like a long walk.  We enjoy Chinatown's shops and restaurants.  It's a small area but definitely worthwhile visiting.  Your 8 pm arrival, however, poses a problem.  When ships visit Victoria in the evening, there are limited shops, restaurants, and tourist activities that are open.  Your best bet, if you are walking into the downtown area, is to stay near the Inner Harbor and Government Street.  Shops and restaurants are more likely to be open in this area.  An alternative is to book an excursion through the cruise line.  If you are cruising early summer to mid-summer you will still have daylight, so good for walking into town.  We have found it is easy to find a taxi when choosing not to walk back to the ship.

Hope this helps.  Even with the late arrival.  Victoria is a special place.
