Miami-Ft Lauderdale and 1 day rental car

We will be staying in Miami for few days pre cruise next january. I have a plan to rent a car for one day near our hotel in downtown Miami.

There are few rental offices close by where I could pick up the car around 9 - 10 AM and return it same day around 5-6 PM. Some good deals available now.

 

Plan is to drive to Sawgrass Mills first for few hours. (friday morning) Then maybe some sightseeing and after that drive to Miami Beach for a short visit before returning the car. Evening time we will be without car around downtown or Bayfront area and maybe Bayside marketplace for dinner? 

 

Q: toll roads if any, how to do it? Avoid or pay? Transponder, mobile-app?

Q2: parking, Sawgrass is no problem but elsewhere?

 

What else to consider, suggestions?

At least Budget has an add-on available  e-toll unlimited roughly 13 USD/day. Is it worth to include?
