Chat feature on the Navigator app- question!

I’m about to sail with a VERY large group of friends on Nieuw Amsterdam, and have questions for anyone with experience using Chat on the Navigator app.

 

1) How do you find or connect with others on the app?  Can you look them up by name, do you need their stateroom number or reservation number? 
 

2) can you set up a group, or can you only chat only with one individual at a time?

I think the chat feature is a great idea - however - I will say it didn't always 'send' immediately - so you might want to be aware of that and test it the first day or so of your trip.

 

My friend and I both had internet so we mostly  used texting.

Just off 16 nights on Zaandam. Found the app to be the  most frustrating thing ever. Never worked properly for us and neither did the wifi. Constantly getting the spinning wheel of death, error messages etc. Assumed chat worked and then would find out later the message never sent.  Better to use texting or whatsapp
