greg_atlanta Posted August 10, 2023 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2023 Taking this cruise solo and looking for dinner and sea day friends! Will try to attend the LGBTQ daily event but I realize it may not be reliable. Greg
rwebb1422 Posted August 11, 2023 #2 Share Posted August 11, 2023 My brother and I - both gay - both from the Atlanta area will also be on this cruise. Look forward to meeting you. 1

zackarykeef Posted August 12, 2023 #4 Share Posted August 12, 2023 Hi, guys! I'm considering booking this trip...just waiting on time off approval from work. My husband can't get off work this long, so it would be my first solo sailing. Really just going to book this to get the points to bump me to Platinum! Talked to another guy on the FB group going solo, so should be a decent group. Will keep updated when I book!
greg_atlanta Posted August 12, 2023 Author #5 Share Posted August 12, 2023 8 hours ago, zackarykeef said: it would be my first solo sailing. There was zero solo supplement for me on this cruise (I booked inside but may upgrade to outside), and getting the package with the drinks came to about $25/day (which is a great deal because NCL drink prices are shockingly high). For all the other NCL TA cruises (on newer ships) the solo supplement was close to the typical 200%. Yay for older smaller ships!
German-solo-cruiser Posted August 12, 2023 #6 Share Posted August 12, 2023 Hello! My name is Sascha. I am also travelling on this cruise. I am from Germany and it's my second NCL cruise and first TA from Europe to the US. Looking really forward to this cruise. 2
Lono Akeakamai Posted August 18, 2023 #7 Share Posted August 18, 2023 Hi guys, I'm Ron from Vancouver, Canada here, travelling with my friends Kyle and James from the UK. We're looking forward to progressive trivia on sea days, and the glow party towards the end of the cruise. 3
zackarykeef Posted August 18, 2023 #8 Share Posted August 18, 2023 This is the most active I’ve seen for an LGBTQ roll call. Y’all are really persuading me to book. I was nervous about going solo on this long of a trip, but seems like it’ll be fun!

I know how to throw a party! 😁 First TA for me but I've heard for years they tend to attract a fun crowd. I'm sure the drink package pricing on a less trendy ship helps.
roppi Posted August 19, 2023 #10 Share Posted August 19, 2023 Hey guys, i'm Markus from Germany and i will also join this cruise. Looks like we are already a nice bunch of people. RD64 Posted September 14, 2023 #11 Share Posted September 14, 2023 Looking to book in the next few days - just trying to organize commitments, airfare, hotel in Lisbon, etc. Hoping to go swimming in Ponta Delgado - close to the cruise ship pier, the warmest water I have ever been in (Transat 2019) , and two steps away from the pier. One other thing - Lisbon or Ponta Delgado - if you like espresso coffee - the Delta brand is far superior to many of the continental brands - I want to go just for the oppty of bringing home coffee. 2
bookie54 Posted September 26, 2023 #12 Share Posted September 26, 2023 Anyone planning to use the steam room on Jade? Hope for company! Looks to be very small with only one shower! First time sailing on NCL and Jade.

I see it on the deck plan. But general trend as ships get renovated is to get rid of the free amenities and move it to the thermal suite. I was on Pearl (same family) about 10 years ago and it had a small steam room which worked pretty well.

The steam room in the gym locker room is still there. It's small, and can fit maybe 3 people comfortably. I believe there is only 1 or 2 showers there, too. The thermal suite has a much more spacious layout with gender segregated sauna, steam and hot tubs.
bookie54 Posted October 2, 2023 #15 Share Posted October 2, 2023 Thx for the reply. 0nly three, that’s small! I don’t take that much space, I can squeeze in between, or stand! LoL What happens if this place becomes popular? Just jocking!

bookie54 Posted October 11, 2023 #21 Share Posted October 11, 2023 How much did they charge for 12 days? what’s in the Thermal Pass? wonder if you can buy a pass only for sea days?
rwebb1422 Posted October 16, 2023 #22 Share Posted October 16, 2023 Hey. I think I paid 250. The price shows us when you customize your cruise just like the dining packages. They usually sell a day pass if they haven’t sold too many full cruise passes.
roppi Posted October 17, 2023 #23 Share Posted October 17, 2023 Also bought the Thermal Pass - with it you have unlimited access to the Spa. For me it was also about 250. Day Passes are sometimes available, but i don't know how much they are. I guess on the sea days the availability will be less. 17 more days to go, woop woop 🙂
