Grand Cayman, Aruba and Curaco..

We are going on the Equinox in March... our port of calls are Grand Cayman, Aruba and Curaco.. Could anyone tell me whether or not there is transportation assistance available to shore from the ship.  Have walking mobility issues and find it difficult to make the long walk to shore.  I know sometimes we've found openair small buses or golf cart assistance.  Any information would be helpful... thank you!

You may want to reach out to the celebrity special needs department.

We have been there on different occasions , and to be honest the transportation options have been different at different times.

I do remember taxis being available dockside in Aruba , adjacent to the pier in Curaçao, of course Grand Cayman is a tender port which is a different situation.

I believe the email address is: special needs @rccl.com.

Include your reservation number, ship name and sailing date.

Hope this helps.

Grand Cayman is a tender port, so you need to be able to go up and down the stairs to the tender.  Once you arrive, presuming you dock in the normal area, you have a very short walk to town and/or taxis.  If you dock in the alternate dock then it is a fairly short walk to the taxi area.  Other than a beach next door there is nothing else there and you need a taxi to get to town.

I am not 100% certain of the other two ports so I'll talk about what I can remember and hope someone with similar issues can provide more accurate input.  In both Curacao and Aruba in our last couple of visits the ship docked quite a distance from the town.  In Curacao I believe you would need to borrow a wheelchair perhaps to get you to the taxi area.  It is an even longer walk to the first nice shopping/casino area - not sure if the wheelchair could be taken that far?  I don't recall any golf cart assistance but not completely sure.  Honestly can't remember for Aruba for sure but I don't recall seeing any golf carts.

Just off Equinox visiting those same three ports. In Aruba some taxis pay for a permit that allows them to pick passengers up right at the ship. We saw one sitting there and assumed it was reserved but it was just an open cab. We took it to a beach and saved about a ten minute walk to town first. There was also a shuttle bus available between the ship and entrance to town.

In Curacao there were golf carts taking people from the ship to the port exit and back for free.
