Had dinner in Canaletto last night. The bench seat I was on was far too low and I told them they need to add something to it in future, they said they would report it...

The burrata was good. We both got the lobster, which was plentiful but rubbery as an eraser..

Grilled shrimp were good, so was the tiramisu.

Went to the comedian show last night, Johnny Cardinale. The first half was cliche Italian jokes, his second half was much better, making fun of song lyrics.

Today we were in Juneau, and went on the Sentinel Island whale watching tour. There was a full bus taking us to Auke Bay marina, where we were divided into 2 boats- very comfy 2 level catamarans.

We saw quite a few spouts and a few tails way in the distance. We also got fairly close to an outcrop where there were many lounging Stellar sealions. They were making quite the noise!

We docked at Sentinel Island for a short walk to the old lighthouse. It was quite worn down but interesting to see the living quarters.

Snacks we had during the trip were cookies, rice krispie square, pepsi, tiny bottle of water, and small pieces of reindeer sausage.

A nice outing with different things to see. Boat was very comfortable and had restrooms. Make sure to eat something before you go!

Had dinner in Pinnacle for Morimoto at Sea again. We tried some different things this time.

We tried the sushi - nice variety, the dumplings, so good. For the mains, I tried the angry lobster. Heavily spiced, which I enjoyed and very tender, although not much of it! DH had the whole fried fish, sea bass, again and we shared the shrimp 3 ways. The shrimp were good but I would like less battered ones. For dessert, I had the chocolate sphere, the bar of chocolate ganache was very good and rich. DH had the gelato trio and enjoyed them all. A fun experience!

Yesterday we were in a sunny warm Ketchikan for the Coastal Cruise and Oyster Farm tour, probably our favourite of the cruise. We had a nice drive to almost the end of the highway. Turned into a beautiful marina, had a 20 minute boat ride to Hump Island, to the oyster farm. We saw a whale during this ride and it was closer to us than 

 

 during our 2 whale watching tours!

Less offensive than “old people and cruise ship” routines??  I really wish they would replace all these comedians with pianists or even floutists (thinking of Paul Steppien).
