It has been 3 years since sailing RCCL what is different

We will be sailing the Mariner of the Seas in July on the Western Intinerary. It has been 3 years since sailing RCCL what is different:

 

I know about the surcharge for Johnny Rockets

I am a little concerned about bring Coke & Diet Coke on board, but nothing to stop me

I read that they have stopped the earning gifts in the Kids club

 

Anything else major?

 

Like can we carry our luggage off the ship?

You have it all and yes to taking out luggage. Just make sure it is on wheels or it is not allowed. I think in 3 years you will find better food. They took a hit years ago for the food and we went back to RCL after finding out they improved this aspect. Just did Mariner in Jan and loved every bit of the ship and the food was very good! Service was good too.

 

As far as the kids club, they give gifts upon registration and that is all.

and you can no longer buy booze in the store and take it to your room for a fee, its all left till last night and then they bring it to you before you get off the next day.

Another thing changed.They now are RCI...(Royal Caribbean International)

 

Sorry...Just picking on ya..

 

I think the major thing you will notice,is a slight decline in Dinning room offerings.I have no real complaints on quality...I am fine with the food.But on our Oct sailing on Mariner...I just seemed like there were less items to choose from...Still the same favorites,and thankfully all my favorite chilled soups...But definitely few side items to pick from,and probably 1 less entree...

 

No complaints...Still my favorite..You will love Mariner...Have a great time

 

Oh...And oooh....Not sure when you are going,and when the Mariner is slated for her change...But they are getting new bedding.
