Windsor Castle/Hampton Court Directions

Does anyone know how to go by train from Hampton Court to Windsor Castle, or vice versa? From London, is it easier to go first to one rather than the other?

Both stations are served by South West trains out of Waterloo. You can change at Clapham Junction when returning from either, to get to the other without coming all the way back to Waterloo. The journey should take about 1.5 hours. Both Hampton Court and Windsor deserve at least a full day as there is so much to see.
