Not sure if you've already gone on your cruise but it's quite a distance from Cancun. Don't think you can do it on your own during those hours.

With those times I don't think you'll be able to do it. You'll tender in Cancun so it will take you time to get to and from the ship. There are bus tours every day and I've driven on my own several times, but it is a good two hour trip each way probably closer to 2.5 hours.

Instead - try Tulum which is on the coast about 70 miles south of Cancun. You can rent a car for the day and do it youself (assuming you are comfortable driving) or hire a taxi.

We went to to Chetizen Itza from Cancun and it was a very long drive if I remember right we left our hotel at about 7 am and got back around 6 or 7 pm.
