Golf & Southern Carribbean on AOS

Recommended Posts

Looking for golf information for the Southern Caribbean ports on AOS. My sister/husband might join us on our January 21, 2007 cruise if there is good golf to be found on Aruba, St. Thomas, St. Marteen, etc. Did you book tee times yourself or did RC assist you? Any information will be helpful. Thanks!:)

Hi Ocean State... I have done LOTS of research on this subject, since we are sailing next month on AOS. Here's what I've found.

Aruba. There are two golf courses on Aruba. Tierra Del Sol is the only 18 hole course on the island. Divi Links has 9 holes that can be repeated to make an 18 hole day of it. Neither of these is available through RCCL, so you would need to book alone. I am going to golf Tierra Del Sol and take a taxi to it. Info is here: http://www.frommers.com/destinations/aruba/0176020087.html

Curacao: There are two options on Curacao also. Curacao Golf and Squash club has 10 (??) holes and is not too expensive ($30). Blue Bay Golf Course is a full 18 holes. These courses are not available through RCCL. I have decided to not golf here. Info is here: http://www.frommers.com/destinations/curacao/0178020087.html

St. Maarten: There is only one course on St. Maarten, at Mullet Bay Resort. The resort is apparently closed because of hurricane damage quite a few years ago, but the course has remained open. Many of the reviews I have found say it's playable, but not a wonderful course. This course is also not available through RCCL. I have also decided to take a pass on this course. Info here: http://www.frommers.com/destinations/stmartin/0183020087.html

St. Thomas: The best is saved for last. Mahogany Run looks to be the "must play" of the trip. RCCL does offer an excursion here, although we booked on our own. Website: http://www.mahoganyrungolf.com/. Devil's Triangle is three holes that look magnificent along the ocean cliffs. I will definately be playing here.

Hope that helps....
