Scott1990 Posted July 12, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2006 We are booked on Celebrity's Baltic/Russia Cruise which leaves June 30, 2007. We are interested in booking a tour in St. Petersburg through Red October or Denrus, both of which seem to be popular. When is the appropriate time to book? Is it way too early now, or is it best to get it done in advance? Any advise is appreciated! Thanks. Also, one of the ports is Gdansk. We would like to see the concentration camp, Stutthof, but the ship's excursion includes a tour of the city of Gdansk as well, which we would like to see on our own. Does anybody know of any private tours in Poland which would take us just to where we want to go? Thanks, again.
JodiBB Posted July 12, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 12, 2006 We started contacting RO about 6 to 8 months before our trip. It was more than enough time to plan our itinerary, find additional people to hook up with (if that's what you want to do) & finalize everything. RHayes8793 Posted July 12, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 12, 2006 We contacted Denrus in January for this September. Everything went smoothly.
gamelady Posted July 13, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 13, 2006 We're using DenRus for a tour on September 6 and didn't contact them until around a month ago. They've been great to deal with and expedited things through very quickly. I thought we were too late already. We're taking a private tour to the camp with a group called toursinpoland. You can reach them at www.toursinpoland.com. They've been great to work with also.
