Casino Table Games on Mercury

We're cruising to Alaska on July 16 and I have a question about the table games in the casino. When I was on the Galaxy 2 1/2 years ago, the only table games were blackjack, Caribbean Stud, Roulette and Craps. Are there any different games on the Mercury? I'm a new fan to 3-card Poker and I also like Let It Ride, but I don't like Caribbean Stud - it's too frustrating.

Thanks!

Hi. Don't have a casino answer for you but just wanted to say I haven't seen you on the roll call page lately. Did you get anyone else signed up for a party?

I was disappointed in the Galaxy's casino. I ended up playing a lot of Caribbean Stud and just got whipped at it. And, the blackjack tables all had a $10 minimum - I really prefer $5 - just cheap that way. Oh well, I'll just try to have fun anyway - they seemed to have plenty of slot machines - I'm just not a big slots player.

In comparison, the Carnival Jubilee (45,000 tons) had a bigger casino double the size with lots of different tables on it. So did RCL's Monarch and Rhapsody. I guess the Galaxy/Mercury class of ships just has smaller casino action.

Don't know if it is the same on Mercury but on the Summit they had the usual - Craps, Blackjack, Carribbean Stud, Roulette, and also Let It Ride and 3-card Poker. I also found Carribbean Stud to be a black hole but had a couple good hands on Let It Ride (a full house and a straight). Good luck

I played it for the 1st time in Shreveport (closest thing to Vegas for us Dallas/Ft. Worth Texans) a couple of months ago and it's really fun. But, 1st timer's luck, I hit 3 of a kind with a $10 bet and it paid 30 to 1. I've played several times since then and never had that kind of luck. And, in 3-card, it can be very expensive on a $10 minimum table if you're not having a good run - you can lose $100 in a hurry just betting the minimum. Let It Ride is also fun but not as fast as 3-card so your money lasts a lot longer. Caribbean Stud I've either had mixed luck or just plain bad luck - draw a straight and the dealer doesn't qualify. Yikes.

So, that's why I'm hoping for something besides Caribbean Stud to occupy me at the tables. I guess I can always play $10 minimum Blackjack or Craps or Roulette - I just need to stay away from the Caribbean Stud table.
