gbolton Posted September 5, 2006 #27 Share Posted September 5, 2006 We particular picked this ship (Bermuda Oct 29, 2006) because it supposely has a special lab that is supposed to be manned constantly by Ocean scientists and I thought it would be interesting for my husband. However, I haven't heard much mentioned about it recently - is it still an active part of EOS?
makethegrade Posted September 5, 2006 Author #28 Share Posted September 5, 2006 I think the lab is still on the ship, and we walked up to it to check it out at one point... However you don't hear anything about it on board. This is to say that there aren't any events that it has, or anything like that. At least we didn't see any. We have been on ships were there are lectures and such, but we didnt see this either...

Try the main RC board to find Radio's live from the Explorer thread and there should be some information in there. Radio was on the 9 night and not the 5 night. Perhaps because of the additional sailing time, they are able to present more on the Ocean Lab. HTH
makethegrade Posted September 5, 2006 Author #30 Share Posted September 5, 2006 We may be right... on the 9 day ... the lab is used more, or as an activity. In any case, we didn't get any sense that they were doing anything with it on the 5 day.
Sue L Posted September 5, 2006 #31 Share Posted September 5, 2006 I have the compasses for the 5 day and it says on Day 2 activities to come and sign up for a tour. So they are offered on the 5 day! Sue
gbolton Posted September 6, 2006 #32 Share Posted September 6, 2006 Thank you, I will be sure to look out for that on the Compass.

Pomperaugrr Posted June 6, 2008 #35 Share Posted June 6, 2008 We were just on the Explorer two weeks ago for a 5 night to BErmuds. Lovethe ship and of course we LOVE Bermuda! Just to keep it on topic. :) Eric
makethegrade Posted June 22, 2008 Author #36 Share Posted June 22, 2008 we did the trip and have another booked now for next summer. it's easier for us (being from the Phila area) rather then having to fly to FL to cruise... not knocking the trip at all.. but wish there were more options out of Bayonne...
