March/Early April Med cruise -- clothes?

Hello - traveling for the first time to the Mediterranean on the new Carnival Freedom on her second week on the Mediterranean in late March, early April.

 

We are visiting Rome, Naples, Livorno, Rhodes, Athens, Katakolon, Izmir and Istanbul.

 

Since I hear it not BEACH weather then, how would you dress to tour those places? What would you pack for sea days?? I gather you're not in the pools, right? They're not heated, right? We've always done tropical cruises before, except Alaska. I've never packed sweatshirts or sweaters before!

 

Also, I have 2 teens -- 16 boy and 13 girl. What advice for them?

Look for the temperature in each port, and then pack for comfort.

Why do people worry so much about packing? It's a 45 minute job the morning you leave surely?
