Sapphire Princess-SE Asia Which Route Better?

I have done both on the Pacific Princess and my preference is doing the Beijing to Bangkok route instead. I preferred doing the Great Wall etc before my cruise. Was a great way to beat any jet lag and be fresh on the cruise.Tony

Gotta agree with Tony on this one.. We're on the Sapphire October 26th sailing from Beijing to Bangkok, and opted for the 9-day cruisetour before the sailing. Should almost feel like two vacations in one, plus the relaxation of a bunch of sea days after the hectic pace of the cruisetour.

We sailed on the Diamond last October - Beijing to Bangkok.

Did the Pre-Cruise stay in Beijing -- Great Tours:)

Seeing the Great Wall was well worth it.

One tip -

Watch out for the Con Artists at the Great Wall.

When you go to walk on the wall, you go through a tunnel.

If you go to the left, you pass by another tunnel.

So, on the way back, go out the second tunnel

Some folks went out the first tunnel and got lost.

The locals charged them about $25.00 to get back to the bus!

A distance of about one mile!!!!

Take a copy of your Passport in your carry-on; the Chinese authorities

will want a copy at embarkation.

Great Cruise -- Enjoy:)
