melissa@cruisecritic Posted September 25, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2006 A few storms have come and gone, and a few cruise itineraries have been tweaked along the way. When it comes to offering compensation for hurricane-affected cruises, do you think cruise lines are more generous this year than in the past? Don't forget: Please post your opinion and experiences. xlRacerXlx Posted October 5, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 5, 2006 I cannot say for this year, however, back in 2004, the compensation was more than enough. Our cruise was cut short one day due to a tropical storm, and we missed Castaway Cay. We had been before, and we were looking forward to it. However! Disney paid a small portion of our cruise fee (something close to 1/7 of the cost) and offered half off our next cruise within one year with them. Since we cruise often, this was a wonderful deal. And it's not like we didn't have a wonderful time on the cruise that we were on!!!
