Shore Excursions - Ship time or Port time?

In Puerto Vallarta, our excursion is listed as starting at 9:30AM, (ship sponsored excursion) and the ship arrival time is 9AM. That would be fine except I saw on some other reviews that "ship time" is one hour behind "port time" in PV, Acapulco, and Zihua. One review stated that everyone changed their watches one hour forward on the second sea day, and then didn't change them again. That would mean PV and Aca would be off one hour.

Our excursion in Acapulco is from 4PM-7PM. And I want to make dinner reservations. Need to know when we will be done in Aca time.

Your Excursion in Puerto Vallarta will be ONE HOUR AHEAD of ship time! PV is the only port that is one hour forward. If you are on the Pride or Carnival, they had us put our clocks/watches ahead an hour the first night we were on board...and then when we arrive in PV they are still ANOTHER hour ahead of the ship!

 

We almost learned the hard way and asked all sorts of people..no one had the answer...it was weird because we were meeting up with some people from the cruise critic outside the ship...we ended up getting off the ship almost an hour before we had scheduled to meet and low and behold..so did they! GOOD THING cuz we would have missed our excursion to the zip lines (canopy tour).

 

WHEW! IT was a BLAST!!
