I stayed in the Holday Inn Express in Condado, which as about 10 mins from the Pan Am Pier. The hotel was clean and the rooms were a good size, also walking distence to many places to eat. Taxi's all over the place to take you to the pier right out front of the hotel.

Price was $129.00 for hotel per night.

I booked the room on Expedia.com

Judy,

It all depends on what you are looking for in a pre or post cruise stay. If you love pools and beaches, then the Caribe Hilton is a favorite with a 3 level pool and great beach access. On the other hand if you want to be close to downtown, the Sheraton Old San Juan with its rooftop pool and downtown access is a must.

Have a great time in San Juan, its one of our favorite places to visit.

Sheraton Old San Juan.... we are booked here the night before our cruise as the ship dock was suppose to be across the street. Now that it moved, is this still the place to stay? We booked the hotel along with transportation to and from the ship and airport and hotel at it cost $338.00 for the both of us. Is this the way to go? Is this hotel in the middle of everything so we can walk to dinner, etc...

Thx Much Kokonut

Can anyone tell me about a good hotel to stay in San Juan Puerto Rico thats reasonable priced for pre and post cruise sailing? Also a good web site to book it on. Cruising April 21 2007.

Welcome to CC Judy. Since you're sailing in April 2007, that should be the "low" season in Puerto Rico and you should be able get a nice hotel at a reasonable rate. Checkout http://www.biddingfortravel.com and you'll see what people are bidding and getting via priceline. A year or so ago, we used Priceline for a pre-cruise hotel and got the Wyndham Condado Plaza for about $65.00. By the way, you are playing it very smart to look at a post-cruise stay as well as a pre-cruise stay. The San Juan airport is a zoo on cruise arrival and departure days, so staying a day or two after a cruise is a good idea. Lot of luck and enjoy your cruise. ;)

Kokonut,

There aren't any hotels really close to the Pan American pier that I can recall. You'll have to take a cab no matter where you stay.

We really like the Sheraton, it is in the heart of Old San Juan. There is a Senor Frogs right next to it, and several restaraunts within a block or two.

Everythings good on vacation! You'll have a great time.

Mark
