I thought I would précis information collected on my last trip to assist others in visiting islands using local agents rather than the boat tour- usually you get a better quality tour and the prices are cheaper. The money also goes to the locals- fair trade as we call it in the UK.

Lawrence--35$ per person, $45 if you go to the beach- average tour guide / a/c bus - gets you out of the filthy Main town.

superb tour $45 pp - very vivacious character- cosol is brilliant and full of fun, sample local food beer, rum punch, all the sights --cool!!

fleet of A/C vans- try to travel with him- very entertaining.

 

Martinique

Cliff- brilliant guide-- a/c Mercedes tour where you want to go 40 euro per hour - expensive but worth it - he speaks good English and gives you great insight into this lovely island (little France)
