nowake Posted December 28, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 28, 2006 Can anyone give me the name of a company from the Ft.Lauderdale airport that has a handicap van. I will be cruising out of MIA and need the van from the FLL airport to Port of Miami. My mother is wheel chair bound. We know the cruise line can do it but we would rather get our own. In the past we found it a lot cheaper and we did a cruise only booking. The company we used last time no longer has one...darn...Any help would be appreciated.. Splinter Posted December 29, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 29, 2006 According to http://www.access-able.com: Taxi/Yellow CabCity.........Ft. Lauderdale State........Florida Country......USA Phone........954-565-2800 They do have accessible cabs. Although advanced notice is not required, due to high demand it is recommended. They also have vans at the airport. Also this option: TRI-RAILCity.........Miami & Beaches State........Florida Country......USA Phone........800-874-7245 Tri-Rail Commuter Train offers transportation every day between Miami International Airport, Ft. Lauderdale or West Palm Beach areas. Every Tri-Rail train is fully equipped for all wheelchair passengers, and they will arrange for courtesy accessible buses form their stations to your destination. For this service, arrangements must be made at least 48 hours in advance. Please call 1-800-TRI-RAIL or http://www.tri-rail.com/ Of course if you choose to book a transfer with the cruise line, it is illegal for them to charge more for wheelchair accessible transport than they do for non-accessible transport. This is covered under the ADA.
