Need help from recent Pride of Aloha cruisers...

 

Has anyone taken the luau shore excursion on Maui -- which hotel is it at? I'd like to do the Marriot one -- has anyone been to it? Any trouble getting back to the ship on time?

 

How is the road to the volcano in Hilo? Is it very steep? We want to rent a car, but I'm a bit of a white-knuckle driver.

 

When we visited Maui a few years back, we took a fabulous Hana trip -- half hour flight by helicopter into Hana and then a van drive back. I don't see it listed among the excursions -- has anyone taken that trip -- were there any problems? I remember the roads getting congested -- any problem getting back to the ship on time?

 

Where are the best places to eat on Kauai? Can we stay late on the island or do we have to be back on ship at a certain time?

I believe it's the Pacific Paradise. I don't know if it is associated with a hotel or resort (not all of them are). You might try an advanced search on this forum only for "pacific paradise" or "pride luau" going back 6 months or so. I know that at least a few of the luau threads recently have included information on the one the NCLA ships' excursions use.

We did the luau at the Marriot 5 years ago and I didn't think that it was all that great. Time could have changed it but this time we have decided to go with the "Old Lahania Luau". It is suppose to be one of the best.
