Cingular-on the Noodam

We'll be on the Noordam on Saturday 1/27. Does anyone have up to the minute information on the following:

We know we can call from St. Thomas and San Juan without a problem - what about the other ports (we have international coverage)?

What about calling while the ship is at sea? Is their system activated? For those who used it, how was it?

Thanks for your input!

They were installing the system during our 12/6-12/16 cruise and I believe it is now up and running.

I have the nationwide Cingular plan and there was no roaming charge for either San Juan or St. Thomas. The service was fine. I did not try to use the phone in other ports.

Go to Cingular's web site and you can find the per minute charges for all of the islands. I had called in reference to Aruba and Curacao and it was 1.99 per min. if you have international calling without the added monthly fee. If you pay the 5.99 a month, then I think it was 1.69 per min.

HI Stellasue

We are also sailing on 1/27 We are taking one phone. Cingualr told us that you can only get reception in St Martin and St Thomas if you have not had the network for more than 6 months.

Did not see your name on the roll call?
