how far from pier to WBB?

It would be a very long walk. By vehicle, it takes 15 or 20 minutes minimum, maybe more. And it wouldn't be a particularly safe walk, as there are no sidewalks (you'd have to either walk on the road, risking getting run over by one of the wild drivers, or walk on the side of the road, which in some areas has high grass, sharp dropoffs, etc). In short, you don't want to walk.

I'm really not sure what the cab fares run nowadays. I'm told it varies widely depending on how crowded it is at the pier, your negotiating skills, etc. It would probably be best to walk into town a bit, away from the front of the cruise pier, to catch a cab.

There are a number of good places to eat in both West Bay and West End. I've always preferred some of the little places in West End that are run by long-time residents of the island. They typically have outstanding seafood dishes.
