I can not find much about Guatemala and I wonder if it is a good place to snorkel? Has anyone tried it?

hi,

i was in guatemala a few months ago.

all though it was beautiful, it is an industrial port so no snorkling there, but you can get some GREAT bargains in the building right off the ship, it is hot and touristy, but fun.

it's a newer port and it will be a great port in a few years, but for now, you might want to stick to hiring a taxi and going for a ride.

the excursions offered were sparce and high in cost.

the village of chichiconstanango(SP?) is cool if you can find a group to go by way of mule, depending on how long your in this port.

they only offered it by plane while i was there and it was to the tune of 499.00pp, i think not.

They do have some really cool looking birds there.:o
