Celebrity Transfers in Buenos Aires

We're about to fly from Miami to Buenos Aires on Lan Argentina, arriving at EZE 06:55 on the 25th of February.

 

Our transfers indicate a Celebrity representative will greet us but not to expect boarding prior to 2:00 pm.

That wording is pretty standard and our past experience suggests boarding begins around 11:00 am.

Has anyone had any experience with South American embarkation/disembarkation procedures?

I expect the first bus to Infinity will not arrive until the first batch of departing passengers arrive for their trip home. Does Celebrity ship us to a hotel for the morning, give a brief tour or just make us wait at the airport till noon?

On our 12/17/06 cruise out of Buenos Aires we arrived (EZE) at 8:45 and were met by the Celebrity rep who releived us of our luggage. We were directed to a waiting bus which took us to a Sheraton Hotel in downtown Buenos Aires. The arriving cruise had a Noro outbreak and our boarding was held up, so the bleaching could commence, and we were not allowed on until after 1:00. Celebrity did have a ballroom in the Sheraton that was setup with coffee, cokes and snacks. Also we were able to fill out the necessary paperwork and received our boarding documents, so that we only had to go through customs when we arrived at the pier. I cannot say if this is standard procedure or if this was done because of the delayed boarding.

 

We did not wait for the Celebrity bus to take us to the pier. We were to anxious and took a cab( about $3.00) and were in the first 20 to board. What a great trip with so many wonderful experiences. Enjoy:D
