Fort Lauderdale Grande

Has anyone stayed at the Fort Lauderdale Grande recently? We booked the $139 Travelzoo rate for 3/2 and I'm worried about some of the comments I had been seeing about renovations. The location sounds great, so I'm hoping it won't be a mistake.

I have wanted to stay there for 2 years, however, the tower is not complete and that is the only way I would stay there for the view. I was told that the hotel is very nice at least the parts that have been completed. Check tripadvisor and see what is said. The hotel staff said the tower should be completed by April.

Don't worry, we stayed there Jan. 13 and it was fine. We arrived Sat. and left Sun. and we hardly noticed the construction. Our room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. They do have a free shuttle to the port but if you don't check in early, the early shuttles fill up quickly.
