scubarn1 Posted February 27, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2007 If a reservation is made directly with Celebrity and includes cruise air, can the cruise air portion be canceled? and is there a penelty charge? Booked the NZ/HI cruise and was wondering can the cruise air be cancelled as we are planning to fly in a week early to sightsee, and would rather try to book are own flights instead of Celebrity custom air doing so. Thanks!
BigDogMom Posted February 27, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2007 If it's before the final payment date, yes, you can cancel the air without a penalty. I often book the cruise with the cruise line air, if I have lots of time before the final payment. My husband travels for his job and has lots of frequent flier miles. Since I know what the price of the cruise line air is, I can then look into mileage tickets or getting cheaper tickets. If I am successful, I cancel the cruise line air. If I can't get a better deal on my own, I already have the cruise line air in place. If you are within 60 days prior to sailing, the cruise line may charge a penalty. I've never been in that situation so I have to advice to give in that case.
Traceybell Posted February 28, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 28, 2007 I just cancelled my Celebrity Air for my cruise that leaves in 2 weeks. I was able to find better (i.e. direct) & cheaper flights myself. Celebrity indicated that they would charge a $75 per person cancel fee (still I got a better deal even considering this penalty). My question is how long before I see the credit showing up on my credit card? Thanks - Tracey
BigDogMom Posted February 28, 2007 #4 Share Posted February 28, 2007 As with anything else that is supposed to be refunded to my credit card, is should show up in about 2 billing cycles.
