Is blackbeard's castle walking distance from Magens Bay?

I am a pirate fanatic and want to do blackbeard's, my question is can you walk there from Magens bay? if so how far? Is blackbeards worth it? Should i book through cruise or on my own? Is it unrealistic to also do some shopping followed by the sunset cruise?

No...you'll need a taxi to get to Megan's Bay. By the way, the castle tour ends with a walk down the 99 steps to the shoppind district. The tow or three museum homes along the 99 step walk are an interesting part of the tour.

 

When at Blackbeards, be sure to look at the bronze statue of the pirate John Avery. You'll swear this is the model used for Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) in Pirates of the Caribbean.
