Disembarking in port for excursion

If I have booked a private scuba excursion at a port, can I disembark early with the people who booked Carnival excursions? Anyone know if I can do this so I can meet my tour guide on time? :)

If your ship is going to dock, than you can get right off as early as you want, if they ship tenders, you will have to go and get a tender ticket, tell them that you have a private tour, if they have room on the tender than they will get you on, if not you will have to wait.
