Cat. Bc Balcony Beds

When searching web sites for a Cat. BC Balcony on Aloha deck accommodating 4 people) on Caribbean Princess, the bed description showed a 3rd bed rollaway. What's this? If the cabin accommodates 4, why does it show only a third bed? I don't understand. I thought a quad was just that - four beds. Can anybody help me?

Hi,

The "rollaway" beds you mention are not traditional hotel rollaway beds, i.e., beds on wheels. They are mounted in the ceiling right above the permanent beds in the cabin. During the day, they are pushed up into the ceiling. When the room steward prepares the cabin for nighttime, he or she pulls the upper berths down from the ceiling. Some cabins have only one upper berth (triples); others have two (quads). The deck plan will indicate which cabins are triples, which are quads.

Hope this helps.

Joan
