Poker on the Valor?

Quick question... I will be leaving for the Valor on April 15th and the BF is desperately trying to find out if there is Poker (preferably Texas Hold 'Em) played on the Valor. :cool: Does anyone know? (We went on one of the Carnival ships for a 4day last September and they had a seperate table right outside the casino hosting games all day... wondering if all ships do this... ??)

I am also cruising on the Valor soon. My hubby is an avid Hold 'Em player so I am interested to know if there are tables for him play....(fingers crossed!!!)

Yes it is an electronic table. You load a special card with money at the casino cage and then insert it into your place at the table. Rather stupid because no one will activate unless they know others will play. On my cruise there was a game only 2 of the 7 nights. And the rake is very high.

High rake notwithstanding, looks like it's fun to play. How high are the limits on the game?

In February, they were playing 3/6 limit hold'em.

Well thats more then a little disappointing. I had heard there is usually a waiting list. I need my poker fix ya know :D

I was on the Valor last Sept. and they did have a hold'em table up and running. No electronic poker at that time. It was a 3/6 limit game. The problem with a limit game is that there is not a lot of turnover at the table and the waiting list can take a bit. I hope they did not replace a live game with a video version. Our group is sailing the Conquest this September and I was planning on playing but I am not a fan of video poker tables.

I was there in Feb 07. Electronic table as I described above. I agree it was a $3-$6 game.

All carnival ships have gone to the electronic poker. No more live poker with a dealer, chips and cards. I also think they are all $3-$6. I know there is not any NL.

I was just on the Liberty and it was $4 and $8 after the first night. The supervisor said it was an "experiment."
