Tiami New Waves Review

We just got back from our trip on the Crown Princess and took the ship's excursion-New Waves Tiami Sail, Turtles & Beach.

We met at the designated meeting spot and took a bus for just a few minutes to the catamaran. There were about 40-50 people on the boat with us with plenty of room for everyone.

We had a scenic sail along the coast for quite a while which was very enjoyable. We then anchored in an area to see the Sea Turtles. We got off the boat, with the mandatory life jacket and snorkel gear and the crew of the boat brought out the food which attracted many of the turtles.

We got to be up close and personal with the turtles and we could touch the top of their shell if you wanted to. They were very big and impressive.

After about 30-45 minutes we got back on the boat and headed to the beach which was right next to a very nice resort where Tiger Woods got married. It was very nice there and we enjoyed some time in the water.

After snorkeling with the turtles the crew offered rum punches, beer, pop, water, fruit drinks to all of us. The crew was very accomodating and very funny. The drinks were unlimited and included in the price of the tour. Even thought they were flowing freely, no body really seemed to be over served.

We had a lot of fun and the crew made everyone feel comfortable. The boat was very nice with plenty of seating, bathrooms and snorkel gear (if you don't have your own).

After swimming at the beach, we headed back to the dock to catch our bus to the ship. We were gone about 4 1/2 hours and would do this tour again in the future.

Mary...DH and I will be doing this exact same tour through Carnival next month! I am glad to hear you enjoyed it. I have never been on a catamaran...how do you get on and off the boat?

Thanks,

Jennifer

We had a very nice time. It was a beautiful ride along the coast and the crew was pretty funny. Our group was pretty subdued at 8:30 a.m., but as the day went on everyone loosened up and had a great time.

This was our first time on a catamaran also. There are nice wide stairs in the front of the boat that go down into the water. The crew seemed to be there all the time to help you when you go down. They also helped those that might have needed help getting back up. When the surf was pushing against the boat when anchored at the beach, it was nice to have them there to grab your hand and help steady you. It is really very easy to get on and off with their help.

I'm sure you will have a very nice time on the excursion.
