Hi-

I just booked the Carnival Inspiration for the Jan 05, 2008 sailing out of Tampa. Has anyone cruised on this ship recently and can you please post what you liked about this ship. I was on the Mardi Gras in 1992, but have not sailed the fantasy class ships - I have been on the Legend, Liberty, and the Princess Crown, but just wondering how the older ships are for wear and tear. Does everything still look new? I know it was refurbished in 2005, so just wondering if some people can post reviews for me. I booked this cruise as it was an awsome price for this sailing!

thanks!

Just off this ship 2 weeks ago, it's wonderful. It's going in for refurbishing in September so it will be even better when you're on it. The food was the best ever and we had an incredible time. Any questions, just ask.

Wow! Thanks so much for the update on refurbishment in Sept/07. I did not know that. I knew they were redoing some suites and kids area, but I thought I read that would take place in 2008-2009. I am excited now, to know we will be getting on in Jan to a newly refurbished ship!

thanks again!

The Inspiration is a great ship and will be even better after the refurb. Look for the stunning lights in the atrium at night (they change colors). The promenade is very unique and the candlelight lounge is magnificent! You will love her!

I was on it on the 27th of april. It was our honeymoon cruise and I had absolutely no complaints about the cruise. Everything--- and I mean EVERYTHING exceeded our expectations.

My only complaint is that there isn't enought time at the grand cayman port with tendering and everything.

We ate in the Mardi Gras room with our waiter Ermund and had the most magnificent time... took care of us the whole time, was funny, cared about our lives (we talked to him for about 30 minutes after a late dinner)

If it tells you anything, we are looking to book the exact same cruise as soon as it gets out of dry dock

OK I'm not picky. It seems everytime this is asked, about once a week. I'm the one that found her a little on the ruff side and in need of that refurb. I've been on her four time. This by no way affected the cruise. Just stated it as I saw it. She is showing wear. I found several thing broken. But, I was on her solo so maybe I saw things a litlle differently. Wounderful cruises.JMHO

Sjohnson, marshall & I were all on the ship the week of April 28th thru May 3rd & I couldn't agree more with what both of them had to say!

Excellent ship, excellent staff, awesome food & not enough time in Grand Cayman!

Look for posts by sjohnson & myself. She did a review & I left a pretty good sized tip sheet, though I plan on writing more.

For pics see my link below in my signature!

You'll love her...the Inspiration she's great! And yes we're going back on April 08! People always ask do you have a "home" ship? I'd have to say yes, the Inspiration!

Speaking of drydock, if this tells you anything, I keep thinking if she was this great before drydock....she'll be darn near untouchable after! You won't regret your choice, I promise!

Be blessed, be a blessing! :p

Hey Melody, probably because you've been on her 4 times you had time to notice these things! You lucky sea puppy! ;)

I did notice there are a few places around the ship...mostly the boat & not the surrounding areas that need to have some painting. I gotta say the Brassiere (sp) needs a good redoing, just cause it's UGLY!

With these thoughts in mind, we can say even though there is alittle work to do, she's aged great in her 11 years & it sure doesn't effect the great service you receive!

Be blessed, be a blessing! :p

  • 2 weeks later...

DH and I were on the Inspiration on the April 19 four day cruise and loved it. I didn't notice wear and tear on her. One time we smelled the sewer smell in bathroom, but that was all. Crew was great, food was very good. Even the lobster was good and plentiful. Never had a meal I didn't like. Chocolate melting cake was great but I switched to butter pecan ice cream with it. DH had a few of the sugar free desserts and liked them. Only ate lunch in buffet once and there were a few things that were good. Preferred meals in the dining room. Shows were good too! Casino was so-so. Won and lost but fun. Made it to finals in slot tournament but didn't win. Bought raffle tickets for cruise and won! I would go on her again, but would like a longer cruise. I really can't think of anything that I wasn't happy with on the Inspiration. DD and I were on a 7 day on Triumph a few years ago and loved it too. You will enjoy your cruise.
