Water Princess Posted June 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2007 For our Med. cruise Venice to Rome on Emerald Princess we inquired from Princess and several other companies about shipping 2 suitcases. The prices were approx $275 -$350 per bag 1 way. The "luggage club" quoted us about $300 for 2 bags from Boston to our hotel in Venice...even had the option of shipping directly to ship/port. They say they use FED-EX and have been in business since 2000. Has anyone ever heard of them or used them? We had decided it was too pricey to use a luggage service but this could be an option for us. Husband has mobility issues and getting to hotel in Venice pre-cruise with all the luggage and then getting to port with luggage seemed a daunting task. Any help greatly appreciated. Toto2Kansas Posted June 28, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 28, 2007 I have not heard of that company before, but just a warning to check the weight limit of the luggage for that price. I would guess that is for minimum weight luggage and the price will probably go higher for a normal weight suitcase. Better to check then be surprised later. juliejoe Posted June 28, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 28, 2007 Perhaps this would work for you: At the airport, use a luggage cart to go to where the buses pick up (just outside the buiilding). Take the bus from the airport to the bus station (driver will load your luggage under the bus for you). At the bus station, you will need to get your luggage across the street to the left lugage area. Store most of your luggage, keeping a small bag to take to the hotel. Cross the street to catch the vaporetto to a stop near your hotel. Return to the left luggage area using the vaporetto, when you are ready to embark. After retreiving your luggage, take a taxi to the port.
