girlfriendtoo Posted July 17, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2007 I have 2 questions if someone could help me out. 1. If we chose a cave tubing excursion with the company Belize Shore Tours, is there an area in which you are required to jump from a cliff to obtain your tube, or do you walk in? This is something we don't want to do as we have younger girls. 2. Does the cave have bats?? Thank you to anyone who responds! Lisa

There are bats but they don't come down! Our guide pointed a light way up in the deep recesses of the cave and you could see them but they are nocturnal and don't come out and fly about you while you're tubing. Lisa Cant say about that tour company regarding the "jump" and am not permitted to suggest any other companies but can tell you that you walk into the cool water when preparing to enter the caves, but that there is a rock formation that can be jumped off of if you elect to do so. And yes you will see a small # of bats, but not the kind that will be flying... usually in their nests formed in the limestone. I think you will enjoy the adventure and if you have any other questions, please feel free to email me at fun2cruiz@aol.com
pugsy&porter Posted July 23, 2007 #4 Share Posted July 23, 2007 Just returned from Belize and cave tubing. We did see a couple bats flying (2), but they were more flying away from the light and the noise. The ones we saw were very small.
