All Cayman shops accept:

Cayman Island Dollars

US Dollars

US Dollar Traveller's Checks

If you pay with cash or traveller's checks, many shops will only provide change in local currency!

Banks can readily convert Canadian dollars, Euros, and UK Pounds. Other currencies are not as easily negotiated.

Most shops accept:

VISA

Master Card

American Express

Some accept:

Discover Card

All credit card charges are posted to your account in US Dollars. The merchant sets the exchange rate and you sign the slip for the US$ amount. (If your card account is denominated in another currency, the credit card company will then exchange from US$ to your currency.)
