Questions about Wyndham El San Juan Resort

CaribbeanBound

Recommended Posts

We were thinking about spending time at the Wyndham El San Juan Resort after dinner at night while our ship is in port (Until 11pm).

Questions:

  1. How far is the resort from the piers?
  2. Is a cab the best way to get there?
  3. Where's the best place to catch transportation, and what is the approximate cost?
  4. Which bars or other venues are recommended here for the entertainment?

The Lobby at the San Juan Hotel is an experience by itself especially on saturday and friday nights. Everyone goes there. This hotel is in Isla Verde. , 5 minutes from the airport but farther away from the piers. If you are in RCCL then you will be in the PamAm Pier which is in front of El Condado, this is probably a 15-20 minutes taxi ride from El San Juan Hotel maybe about $18.00 (be aware that there is a Hotel called SanJuan Hotel, One called Old San Juan Hotel and one called San Juan Tower, you want to go to "el" or "The" San Juan Hotel) . If you re in Princess you probably will also be in the PamAm pier. If you are in Carnival you will be in Old San Juan, and that add another 10-15 to the trip to Isla Verde and probably will add another $5-$7 to the fare.

There is a open Disco Bar in the Lobby called Chico Bar, You can stay outside of it but seating in one of the big chairs available in the lobby and listing to the music (salsa, Merenge, Latin Music) and watch from outside all the action going on inside the disco. There is also another Disco in the hotel called "BaBylon" (sp??) this is more your typical Disco with lights and all type of music not Latin Music. There is a small Casino at the hotel as well, there is a Mexican restaurant at the top floor and believe they just open up another Steak house as well on that floor. There is a small but very nice shopping area. It is like a boulevard of small stores and there is a Japanease restaurant on that area of the hotel. Finallly they also have an Italian restaurant (expensive) but nice.

Don't be late and miss your boat!!!!

Hope this help :)
