Hyatt Regency in Vancouver... Thanks Priceline!

Woohoo! Just used Priceline for the very first time, bid $60 for a 4-star (only selected Vancouver- no outlying areas) and was accepted at the Hyatt Regency! Called Hyatt direct to confirm reservation and requested non-smoking room with king bed. Not bad for weekend rates...

Hate to a bearer of bad news but we are having a conference in Vancouver from the 19th - 23rd and our group is actually having to switch hotels because of large bookings with other groups. Don't know what is going on but we have a group of about 400-500 in town.

If Marriott point is an option you may wish to consider, the 3 Marriott properties still have rooms available under there rewards program. Check out the marriott site.

Beginners luck, I guess, as well as reading up on the boards here and on www.biddingfortravel.com. Looked to see what bids were being accepted for 4* hotels around the dates I needed. $60 seemed to be the average, so I typed that in, and up popped the Hyatt... I checked Hyatt.com's prices, and was quoted a rate of $217/night (US$) for the 2 nights I needed. Best deal I've gotten on this trip yet...

I also got The Hyatt through priceline..May 27-30 $70 a night and June 6 for one night @$64. The people at Bidding for travel really helped me understand the bidding process and it worked!! Leaving one week from today and I cant wait to see Vancouver before our cruise on Infinity.

Thanks for letting us know about the conference, ajdegumbia. That must be the problem we're having getting a hotel for 6/17-20. I've been trying Priceline for months and have bid up to $85/night with no luck. We have a Best Western booked, but I was hoping to get a 4* more in the center of the action. I guess I'll keep trying on the outside chance I may get something at the last minute, but won't get my hopes too high!
