O.G. Posted May 20, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 20, 2004 Confused about the best bear sightings for Aug. 30 Which is best, Neets Bay, Traitors Cove, or should I do Anan Creek with Orca? Has anyone been on Capt Larry's bear trip? Please help? I see there are brown bear at Anan, but which tour would I have the most sightings? Budget Queen Posted May 20, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 20, 2004 For clarification - Orca Enterprises does NOT operater the bear tour- they are a booking agent. Anan is mostly black bear viewing end of August as is all the rest of your choices out of Ketchikan. I prefer Anan and have gone to Neets Bay- both great tours. Book who fits your schedule best. No guarantees on sightings and tablemates who went last year, first week of Sept saw no bears.
O.G. Posted May 20, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted May 20, 2004 Thanks for the info. I just got off the phone with Carol at Orca. (booked the whale watch) She explained that if we wanted to see Grizzly Bears we would need to go from Juneau to Pack Creek. I sounds great but would be a real push for my budget. Sure could use some input from anyone who has done any of the bear trips. Thanks in advance.
Budget Queen Posted May 21, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 21, 2004 As stated above, I have gone to both Anan and Neets Bay. Pack Creek is your only brown option.
