What to do in Progresso

I'm sailing on the Holiday next August and the Costa Maya day has been changed to Progresso. I'm interested in the Mayan ruins but how much time will be eaten up on transportation? Also, what else do you recommend to do at this port? I'm not big on the beach scene/snorkeling/swimming. Thanks.

Check out my post on this cite, "WONDERFUL FREE THING TO DO" Also,

Check out my webshot photos. I was just at Progreso this past Monday and really enjoyed it. Most of the pictures on pages 4 - 10 are of Progreso that includes pictures of the city, the beach area (notice the seaweed), and the school we visited.
