Thanks for the input. I will check with Carnival and see what happens. I did book, see my other post, so I will keep you guys apprised of any developments.

I just called Carnival and they confirmed that the Past passenger discount is only available for certain sailings not everyone.

Thanks for filling us all in. What a bunch of crappola that is, it about tells me that they will grant the status to the sailings that aren't selling well. I have so much faith in some of these practices, can you tell? NOT!

I asked about this as well when booking my first Princess cruise, having sailed on Carnival twice. I was told by Princess that IF there is a past passenger rate special at the time, you could get it, but that the past passenger rates are not always in effect and for certain sailings only, so that told me that more than likely I would never get one.

Ok. I must speak up now. You are being told the truth. At this time, there are no special past passenger rates being offered on that specific sailing. I am a travel agent and I just went in to my booking system. There are no past passenger rates or special rates for that date, at this time. That doesn't mean that they won't offer one as you get closer to the date of sailing. I am certain that they will give you the rate if it is available.
