Wi-Fi on board and in ports (E. Med.)

I need to stay in touch with an elderly relative and with my clients once or twice a day while on my MSC cruise. Questions for past passengers: If you bring your own laptop (or in my case, tablet PC),

(1) how much does MSC charge per minute for Wi-Fi internet access?

(2) is the connection speed good?

(3) can you get the Wi-Fi signal in your cabin?

(4) if you tried VOIP (Skype, etc.) while at sea, how was the quality?

(5) are there free or cheap Wi-Fi hotspots at or near the docks in Genoa, Katakolon, Piraeus/Athens, Rhodes, Alexandria, Limassol, Marmaris, Heraklion, and/or Naples?
