Great Stirrup Cay

We are thinking of taking a cruise on the Spirit in April. One of the stops is Great Stirrup Cay. What I think is odd is the time that is spent there, the ship gets there at 4:30 pm stays overnight and leaves 1:00 pm the next day. Is there any activity on the island at night? If not the ship leaving at 1:00 pm does not give you much time on the beach. You would have to be onboard by noon. Am I missing something?????

We had that same stop on the Spirit and were skeptical of it initially, but ended up having a great time. We took a tender over after dinner on the first night there; there was a beach party (music, food, drinks, games), and we had a lovely time! Then, we went over again in the morning and had a great time on the beach. NCL continues to run tenders until everyone is on board. You can see the tenders from the beach. Both time we have been there, we waited it out til the last tender (enjoying the less crowded beach as others foolishly waited in line, as if NCL was not going to run enough tenders for everyone), and have gotten an extra 45+ minutes on the beach past the slated departure time.

We're looking forward to returning to GSC on our cruise this January... we always have a wonderful time there!
