Fyly Posted November 21, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 21, 2007 I did a search with HAL excursion in this thread but didn't find the answer to my question. re. Virgin Gorda The hal web site says : "An excursion launch picks you up shipside for a 40-minute cruise along the Sir Francis Drake Channel to Spanish Town, Virgin Gorda. There you will board an open safari bus for a short drive to the Baths for swimming and snorkeling in the unique atmosphere of mammoth boulders, palms, sand and sea caves. Roam through the intricate network of trails and boulders to discover hidden caves and sea pools. Make your way to the Top of the Baths from where a bus takes you on a short tour. Stop to shop for souvenirs before the cruise back to your ship." Does it mean that HAL is using something else than the ferries some of the posters described? if so: Is it a ferry type boat? a nicer boat? and what is this bus tour afterwards? can you skip it to stay longer at the boulders? Thanks, Fyly
md1jw Posted November 22, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 22, 2007 WE went on this tour on our recent HAL cruise on the Noordam. We went across and back to Virgin Gorda on the normal ferry. We didn't have a tour at the end, but went straight back to the dock to get the ferry back. The time issue meant that we didn't have a great deal of time to spend at the baths, but it was still very good. If time isn't a problem, it is very easy to do on your own, the only reason we went on a ship's excursion was because of the brief time we had in port
