Telescope on NOS ?

We are going on NOS in Jan - My Nephew was wondering if he can bring his telescope on board ? Loves the stars !

Since the ship is usually sailing at night, the movement of the ship would preclude one from effectively using a telescope with a tripod to view the stars. If it is a handheld telescope, it might work better. I doubt there would be any problem bringing a handheld telescope onboard.

I think because of the movement I would take a nice pair of binoculars. Easier to pack and use on a moving ship and will still get to view some great night objects.
