Bringing wine onboard while in port

A few months ago I cruised on the Golden Princess. They would not allow hard liquor to be transported from a port to your onboard cabin. Princess held it for you until the last night. They did not care how much wine or champagne you brought on from a port of call. I will be on the Vision in 2 months. Has anyone brought wine onboard purchased onshore on the vision?

All alcohol, no matter what will be confiscated.

 

While coming back on board my water bottles are even checked to make sure its water.

I'm new to cruising - why is that? To prevent public drunkenness on the ship?

I think the policy exists to get passengers to pay $28 for an $8 bottle of wine and $7 per drink for hard liquor. Safety is an excuse. Holiday Inn does not take away my wine when I come and go.

Amen to that. We use to bring our wine aboard. there was no problem. The C/S lounge is a nice perk but getting very crowded. We still love RCL though.I hope they don't take the perk away. I hope everyone gets a chance to use it . GOOD FOR RCL GOOD FOR US.
